Annetta “Ann” Yvette Skaggs

ANNETTA YVETTE SKAGGS

Annetta “Ann” Yvette Skaggs, 61, was called home to glory Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Clinton, Tennessee. 

Born in Kingsport and raised in Rogersville by her mother and father as the baby of the bunch, she grew up playing tennis and softball, fishing, bike riding, and singing in the True Vine Church choir. Ann was a joyful person who liked to uplift and encourage others. She was a nature lover who was particularly delighted by the beautiful sights of the Great Smoky Mountains. Bird of Paradise and peonies were her favorite flowers. Ann was a clever card player and some might even say, with a smile of course, that she was a “shrewd card shark,” especially at Spades. Most of all, she loved the Lord and sought His comfort and peace down to the minute of her spiritual transition.

Ann will fondly be remembered for her hearty laughter, her joyful smile, as well as her ability to make others in her company feel treasured, loved, and special. A gifted storyteller, Ann possessed warmth, spunk, and humor. She was generous of heart and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Although our loved one has departed in physical form, she will never be forgotten in spirit. Ann will be missed dearly by all her family and friends for years to come.

Ms. Skaggs was preceded in death by her parents, James Barber and Kathryn Sovolia Snapp; brothers, James “Tex” Snapp Jr. and Timothy Snapp; and sister, Martha Hilton.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Gemaika Iman Helms and loving son-in-law, Anthony Lamar Helms; her brother, Phillip Marshall (Beverly) Snapp; her sisters, Mary Barbara (Johnny) Dennis, Carolyn Kaye Jackson, Edith Norene (Roger) Gilbraith and Margaret Debralee (Lewis) Ewing; and last but not least, a host of adoring nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends 1 – 2 pm., Saturday, October 9 at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.

Jackie Dean Collins

Jackie Dean Collins was born November 14 ,1955 in Grainger County  to Helen Collins. He was a resident of Martinez , CA . He departed for eternal rest on September 24 , 2021. Jack was loved and touched the lives of many people. He brought laughter and joy to whomever he encountered. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen E. Collins, brother Jerry Goins, sister Beth Ann Collins . He leaves to cherish his memory, His daughter Amanda Dornsife of Los Angeles, CA . Brother Ricky Collins, Sister Tammy ( Elder James) Goins, Brother Jeffery Collins, Sister Shannon Collins, Brother Michael Collins all of Morristown, TN. Sister Veronica Collins and Steven Moore of Jefferson City ,TN And a host of nieces: Chris Collins, Tamrah Buhr, Sabrina Collins, Dejonae  Collins, Teya Cooke, Macy and Madison Ratliff, Jomisha Dailey. Nephews: James Goins Jr. , Stephen Goins, Nathan Proffitt. And a host of Aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Special and devoted friends : Mary Grace Scalercio, Mike Gillio, and Bill Moore.

Tyler Allen Dalton

Tyler Allen Dalton, 30, of Knoxville, formerly of Bean Station, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 13, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He professed his faith in God at an early age. His smile was contagious, he always made people laugh and smile.


Tyler was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wanda Ruth Dalton; grandfather, Dan Oliver Dalton; and great-grandmothers, Rosie Dalton and Nancy Mae Perry.


Tyler is survived by his son, Kaidyn Lane Dalton of Strawberry Plains; mother, Linda L. Dalton of Bean Station; father, Tony F. Dalton of Morristown; brother, Jessee (Cassie) Dalton of Greeneville; grandmother, Elsie Purkey of Bean Station; niece, Maleigha Dalton; fiancée, Cassie Humphrey of Knoxville; stepchildren, Alyssa and Austin Rosenbalm of Knoxville; uncle, Willie Dalton of Lafollette; and aunts, Sheila Vaughn of Mooresburg and Kathy Miller of Morristown.


Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
