Jennifer Renee Dunson

Jennifer Renee Dunson, 45, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of June 6, 2023, following a ferocious battle with cancer.  A wonderful wife and mother, she lived every day as if it were her last, long before her diagnosis.  She was an extraordinarily loving person, anyone’s shoulder to cry on, and she always left the person feeling better than they were before.

Her fur babies were some of the greatest joys of her life and she loved breeding them to share that joy with others.  She was always happiest when making other people happy.

Jennifer was a Member & Affiliate of the East Tennessee Historical Society, creator of The Old History Project – Facebook page, YouTube channel, and Podcast.  Recipient of the 2019 Preservation Award, from the East Tennessee Preservation Alliance, Recipient of the 2022 Community History Award, from the East Tennessee Historical Society. Also on the Board of Directors with the Hayslope Preservation Fund.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Baker, and her adoptive parents, Mary Gaye and Worley Sturgill of Eolia, Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband, John Dunson, Three children: Isaiah Dunson, David Dunson, and Nikkia Caldwell, her grandson, Oliver Coy Carmichael, Her three brothers, Rodney Warren, Joey, Dwayne and Vernus Sturgill as well as her 3 sisters, Glenna Fields, Yvonne Skeen and Annette Warren.

Services will be held at Dockery – Senter Funeral Home.  Family and Friends Visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM, Funeral at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023, with Dr. Rev. William Butler officiating.  Burial at Emma Jarnigan Cemetery.  Family and Friends Visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM.

Johnna Necole Davis

Johnna Necole Davis, born on June 17th, 1971, age 51 of Morristown went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning on May 17th, 2023.

She is proceeded in death by her father John Davis and her stepfather Carl Price.


She is survived by her mother Brenda Garrett-Price, son Justin Davis, daughter Tyra Davis, and granddaughter Avayia Moore, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

Arrangements will be held at Dockery- Senter funeral home on Sunday May 21st, 2-3pm and service will start at 3.

Fred Hampton, Jr

Fred Hampton, Jr. Age 58, known as Junior to most, was born in Morristown, TN on April 30, 1964. He entered eternal rest on April 29, ,2023. Fred Hampton, Jr. was preceded in death by his father Fred Hampton, Sr. Maxine Jester was a devoted fiance. Fred lived a very colorful and adventurous life throughout his years in New York. Survivors include his mother Lena Blevins Hampton of Morristown, TN. One son Keoni (Brandi) Hampton, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Stepchildren, Marche Jester and John Campbell of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Charles Jester and Wayne Jester of Bronx, New York. Two sisters, Beverly Grant of Morristown, TN. Penny Hampton of Bronx, New York. A host of grands, great and great great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Many aunts and uncles. He was a true survivor and knew all the tricks to any trade to make ends meet for himself and his family. 


The family sincerely thanks everyone for the many acts of kindness during their time of bereavement. The comforting messages and all other expressions are very much appreciated. May God bless and keep you.
