JOE DEAN GOODSON SR, 84, PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT HOME ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2023.

JOE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS WIFE, BRENDA GOODSON, HIS BROTHERS, ROBERT EUGENE & BILLY MANUEL GOODSON JR, HIS SISTERS, SHEILA MAE GOODSON & BILLIE CELENE GOODSON, AND HIS PARENTS, WILLIAM MANUEL GOODSON & MARY MARGARET SHIELDS GOODSON.

JOE IS SURVIVED BY HIS CHILDREN, JOE DEAN GOODSON JR(DONNETTA), YOLANDA DENISE BROOKS, AND MANUEL ARTHUR GOODSON, HIS SISTER, EVELYN RUTH GOODSON, HIS GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT CHILDREN, NIECES, NEPHEWS, AND HOST OF LOVING FRIENDS. 

JOE GOODSON SR GRADUATED FROM THE HAMBLEN COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM AND THEN WENT INTO THE MILITARY SERVICE IN 1957. SOON AFTER, JOE MARRIED BRENDA MCMAHAN AND BEGAN BUILDING THE FOUNDATION OF HIS FAMILY. JOE WAS AN INCREDIBLY SKILLED MECHANIC AND CARPENTER WITH THE TALENT TO PASS THAT KNOWLEDGE DOWN TO HIS CHILDREN TEACHING ENTREPRENEURSHIP. 

JOE LOVED TO LAUGH AND LOVED HIS FAMILY. JOE MOLDED STRONG FRIENDSHIPS THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE AND WILL BE REMEMBERED AS A MAN OF HONOR, DIGNITY, AND RESPECT. THE FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS AS WE CELEBRATE LIFE OF MAN THAT TOUCHED MANY!

Charlie R. Kyle 65, departed this life peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at home surrounded by his immediate family.

Charlie was preceded in death by his infant brother Todd Kyle; grandparents, Ike and Flora Kyle, mother Josie Kyle, his sister Dorothy Parkey Fortson and his parents A.R. and Gladys Parkey.

Charlie leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers Tony, Lamont and Richard Kyle, Rickey Parkey, devoted sisters, Flora Parkey (Rodney) Houston and Susie (Michael) Washington. He also leaves to cherish his memory to his niece and nephews (Jon, Grant, D’Shaun and Inika) whom he treated like his own children (but spoiled them) and a very special cousin William “Squirrell” Griffin who was faithful to the end.

Charlie graduated from Morristown East and attended Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN. Charlie was proud to serve our country in the Army and he shared very fond memories of his duties as a MP “Military Police” and received an honorable discharge. Charlie worked at Lear Siegler before joining the Oak Ridge Y-12 as a security police officer. He later served in the trucking business for many years and had a love of meeting different people and seeing new places on the open road, he never met a stranger.

Charlie loved playing cards, basketball and playing pool. He lived his life to the fullest and had a loving and generous heart. Charlie would help anybody in this world. He often drove people to their doctor appointments, hospital, pharmacy, grocery store and would also drive them out of town if they needed him. He was just there for anybody that called upon him for anything or if he thought he could help you, he would just show up.

Service will be Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 2:00.  Family receiving friends from 1-2 at Dockery Senter Funeral Home.

Anthony Mitchell Bryan was born May 30, 1953, to Donald and Orma Jean Bryan in Morristown, TN. He was the fifth of seven children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Orma Jean Bryan, Sr., sister, Vivian E. Bryan, brother, Malcolm S. Bryan, and nephew, D’Artangan Bryan.

He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Bryan (Clovis Jefferson) of Nashville; grandchildren, Maya Bowen of Houston, TX, Keith Bowen III of Moreno Valley, CA, and Leonidis Bryan of Nashville; siblings Kayrn Bryan, Donald (Talmar) Bryan, Aaron (Nora) Bryan all of Morristown, and Alicia Bryan of Atlanta, GA. In addition to several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Anthony also leaves to mourn a special friend Marty Clowers.

Upon graduating from the Hamblen County School System, Anthony’s ventures landed him in California. Here, he drove the public bus for the city of Los Angeles for a while, then, began to drive trucks locally and cross country. Anthony loved music, listening and playing. He was a pretty good drummer and learned to play the guitar. Recently, he had taken to the piano, however, he never could get that voice quite in tune!! He was also a very good artist!!

As life continued for Anthony he came back to Morristown where he started attending All Saints Episcopal Church. Anthony will be missed by those who knew him.

I would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to all the doctors and nurses who provided him with care both here in Morristown and in Knoxville. Words cannot express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for Mr. Joseph Senter and the whole Dockery-Senter Family.
