John Brown

John Brown 84 years if age was born in Bean Station, TN on September 23, 1939.  

He died suddenly in his home in Morristown, TN, Friday, December 1, 2023.  

 

He resided in Baltimore, MD with his wife Marva Greenlee-Brown for over fifty years, after serving a tour in the US Navy.

 

John was proceeded in death by his parents Maude and Steve Brown, sisters: Mary Thompson, Ruby Treece and Gloria Garner.  Brothers: Eugene, Melvin, Samuel, Steve, Claude and James (June)Brown.

 

Johnny ”Pop-POP” and Uncle Boggie as he was called leaves to mourn wife: Marva Greenlee-Brown and three step-daughters:

Tanya (Larry) Hailey  , Tammy Blevins of Baltimore, MD, Debra (Jeff) Bruce of Morristown, TN.  Brothers: Charles (Willie Mae) Brown, Richard (Toni) Greenlee.  Sister-in-law: Jacqueline Wilson-Gray of Knoxville, TN 

 

He had a devoted niece and nephew Joann Treece-Taylor and Lewis Treece kept in touch regarding his health.

 

He has Five grandsons and JR whom called him “Pop-POP”,  Five great granddaughters and Four great grandsons.  John has a host of nieces, nephews , other relatives from Maryland, New Jersey, PA, and Tennessee.

 

Home Going Services Saturday, December 9, 2023.  Family visitation 11-12, funeral  services 12 Noon.  

Burial Monday, December 11, 2023 10:00 am at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Knoxville, TN.

Pat Patterson Jr

1935 - 2023

  

Pat Patterson Jr., 88, of Talbott, TN., passed away on November 15, 2023. He was born on January 26, 1935, in Whitesburg, TN. Pat, as he was commonly known, retired from BASF after over 30 years of dedicated service.

In his free time, Pat enjoyed farming, gardening, and his greatest passions: hunting and fishing. These hobbies brought him great joy throughout his life.

He was a beloved husband to Mabel Patterson and a loving father to Norman (Jerrie) Patterson 3rd. Pat is also survived by his granddaughter, Kelly Greene, and great-granddaughter, Malayah Thomas. He had a close bond with his brother, Bob Patterson.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Ada Ruth Patterson Sr., his sister Ilene Cobb, and his brother Bill Don Patterson. 

The family will receive friends on November 24, 2023, prior to the service at Dockery Funeral Home in Morristown, TN. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. James Goins, will be held at Dockery Funeral Home at 1:00p.m. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens at 3:00p.m.

Gaynell (Poochie) Simpson Scott

Gaynell (Poochie) Simpson Scott, 71, of Morristown, TN, passed away November 08, 2023 

She attended Morristown College and Garner Webb University


She was a loving mother and grandmother


Member of Thorn Hill Baptist Church


She was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan

 

Gaynell was preceded in death by her father, Charles F. Simpson, her mother and 


Hazel Dotson Simpson, and granddaughter Tamia J. Clark.

 

She is survived by her son Dwayne L. Simpson, daughter Sherrye L. Scott, and 


long-time loving companion Harold Green.


Grandsons: Terrell J. Scott, Jonah L. Simpson, Tyrek J. Scott, Micah P. Simpson


Granddaughters, Carissa J. Simpson, Jordyn T. G. Simpson , Great Granddaughter
