Eva Marketta Dockery

Eva Marketta Dockery, age 66. Sunrise July 21, 1957- Sunset January 1, 2024. Eva Marketta was born in Newport to the union of the late Burn Harris and Gladys Louise Carr Dockery. She attended Tanner School, Newport Grammar and was a graduate of Cocke County High School, Class of 1975. She briefly attended Morristown College. Her career of working with children and adults as a caregiver spanned many years. She accepted Christ and was a member of Newport First Church of God where she served on the Trustee Board and loved to sing for her church. Eva Marketta enjoyed traveling, cooking and singing. She enjoyed supporting her grandchildren in their activities. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Eva Marketta is preceded in death by her parents Burn and Gladys Carr Dockery, brother Burn Dockery Jr. and sister, Tewanna Dockery. She is survived by her son, Casey T. Dockery (Laura); grandson Dorian Dockery (Rocki Balance) and granddaughter Sydney Dockery, special bonus grandchildren Jessi (Chad) Morris, Katy (Thomas) Harris and Logan Blazer. Also, her bonus great-grandchildren Emma and Ryan Morris, Xavier, Brandon and Katalina Harris. She is survived by her brothers Aaron U. Dockery, Ricky A. Dockery and Paul H. Dockery (Stacey) and sisters Rementna L. Dockery and Shedenna A. Dockery. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, special life-long friends Addie Thomas, Barbara Allen and Daira Finchum. 


A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Newport First Church of God, 331 Woodson Road, Newport.  The family will receive friends between 1 and 2 pm with the Service to follow.  Pastor Tonya Shelton officiating. 


Robert Alan Krumpe “Bob”

Robert Alan Krumpe "Bob", age 67, passed away at home on December 25th 2023 after his battle with cancer.

Bob was a hardworking family man, full of knowledge, who had a deep passion for music. 

He reunited with his parents Gunther and Margaret Krumpe as well as his wife Karen Krumpe. 

He is remembered by his son and grandchildren. As well as his family and friends who already miss him dearly.

No further arrangements are made available at this time. 

 

 

Michael Duane Proffitt

Michael Duane Proffitt went to his heavenly home on December 29, 2023. 

He was born on May 13, 1956 in Morristown, TN to the deceased Nellie Lucille Patton (mother) and Howard E. Proffitt (father).

He is preceded in death by a brother – Gary Patton and sister Jacuqeline Moore.  Also many aunts and uncles (Frank Patton (Omega); Edward Patton (Jane); Joseph Patton, Gladys Ragin, Christine Cunningham, and Shirley Carr (Charles).

He has surviving sisters Rhonda Proffitt, Stephanie Proffitt in Morristown, TN; Vickie Patton and Beverly Fitz (Roanoke, VA); and brother Randy Proffitt (wife Patti) in Whitesburg.  He has an uncle – John Patton (Morristown, TN). He also has myriad of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Michael worked in the Morristown Hamblen School system as a custodian until he retired.

Michael randomly attended Bethel Baptist Church in Morristown.    He was a lover of sports (runs in the family!). 

The family thanks each and every one of you for your prayers, visits, and support.
