George "Eddie" Mills of Morristown, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at his home.
Eddie was born on February 20, 1957 to Marshall Mills and Ollie Wilson Mills in Morristown, Tennessee. He attended Morristown-East High School. He was an outstanding athlete in basketball, football and track and field, as he presently holds the record for the high jump event. He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Mills Sr.; his brother, Marshall "Dubby" Mills Jr.; and his sister, Trina Matthews.
Eddie is survived by his mother: Ollie W. Mills of Morristown; sister: Mona Lisa Mills of Morristown; son: Edward Leon Mills of Morristown; daughter: Anita (Victor Sanchez, Jr.) Nelums-Sanchez of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren; Jordan and Nate Thomas of Lexington, KY; nieces: Karla Mills and Sarah Leeper of Morristown, and Leah Leeper of Chattanooga, TN; great-nephews: Marshall and John of Knoxville, and Myles Wofford of Morristown; aunts, uncles, cousins; special friend: Pam Taylor; and a host of relatives and friends.
Memorial Service for Mr. Mills will be Monday, June 29, 2015, at 12 noon at Dockery Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment will follow the service at Russellville Cemetery.
