Ethel Mae “Sis” Davis, age 87, departed this life and entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, September 21, 2014 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert & Gertrude Davis; daughter & son-in-law: Doris (Dwayne) Riley; son-in-law: Rev. Robert E. Williams, Sr.; and sisters: Alberta Davis & Ruth Davis.
She is survived by four daughters: Nancy (Ken) Rucker of Austin, TX, Judy (Robert) Smith of Morristown, Kathy Williams of Jefferson City, and Audrey (Zack) Taylor of Dandridge; granddaughters: Kenny L. Rucker of Austin, TX, Amy (Lee) Jarnigan and Krystal (Chad) Seals, all of Jefferson City; great-granddaughters: Brylee Jarnigan, Addison Collins and Kynleigh Seals; Nieces: Geneva Phipps and Brenda Davis (devoted niece/daughter); adopted daughter: Kim Parrott; adopted son: Arthur “Bug” Davis, Jr.; great-niece: Laura Phipps; great-nephews: Ronnie Phipps and Chris Phipps; devoted friends: Carrie McMillian, Gail Jarnigin, Betty Ledford and Hattie Cotner; and a host of relatives, friends and church family. Special thanks to Smokey Mountain Home Health & Hospice (Dr. Green, nurses and therapist, case workers and chaplain).
Funeral services will be Friday, September 26, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Young’s Memorial AME Zion Church in New Market. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Young’s Memorial Church Cemetery.
